The real danger of a China intent on “conquering” the world

China’s uncompromising plan to take over much of the world

China, under President for life, Xi Xing Ping, has set a course to “conquer” as much of the world as possible, covertly (with bribery and bullying “loans” to small and vulnerable nations), overtly such as the takeover of much of the South China Sea and simple denial of historical fact as is the case concerning Taiwan.

The really terrifying aspect of China’s march is an apparent total lack of a moral compass. The current trial of China’s social credit system is “1984” stuff. Everyone is photographed and a file kept on the entire population. Those who are good Party members etc. can travel wherever they like and can afford. Others who might buy too much liquor or criticise the government, suddenly find themselves unable to even travel to the next town. They are stopped from boarding trains or buses etc.

The recent admission of genetic alteration of human embryos by a Chinese scientist could even be scarier. It is not a huge stretch to see a future where human embryos are altered to create model citizens and die-hard supporters of the Chinese government.

We should be afraid, very afraid.

The recent terrorist attack in Paris by extremist Islamist Jihadis poses a double whammy for free thinking people. On the one hand, these Jihadis totally disagree with anybody who thinks differently or even vaguely insults them. On the other, security agencies of the West are constantly increasing the power of laws to combat this threat. Where does this leave us? It is becoming increasingly likely that most of our cherished freedoms will cease to exist (that is if you ever believed in “freedoms” in the first place). Throughout the history of mankind freedom has always been a handmaiden of power.

The really sad thing, apart from the loss of innocent lives, about these terrorist attacks is that they give the looney right a political leg up in their quest to promote a totally miserable and inequitable world. Lying idiots like Tony Abbott and Campbell Newman (I haven’t even called into question their honesty or political integrity) make headway under these conditions by distracting the populace from the major issues closer to home.

I must apologise for the miserable image of Mohammed at the top of this post. It was the most reasonable one I could find. Having never personally met the man I have no idea what he looked like. However, if he and his religion are worth anything whatsoever (which I doubt), he would be rolling over in his grave at what the extremist Islamist Jihadis are doing in his name. If the Jihadis are offended by my post, bring it on! They simply cannot kill all of us.

To me, the ignorance and stupidity behind this extremism has its roots in the Old Testament of the Christian bible, the Koran (obviously) and the Telmut and Torah of the Jews. Sure we all need to believe in something beyond ourselves, presumably. Nonetheless, we could choose to believe in positive things. The tenets of Buddhism and also Hinduism do not preach violence at all. Buddhism particularly reveres all life. Acts of violence committed by Buddhists and Hindus are not committed in the name of their religion. They are committed by their followers in the name of all too human concerns and exhibit a lack of spiritual understanding of those religions or else are simply a result of human weakness.

Most Muslims despise terrorism of any sort but it does seem odd that so many followers can interpret their beliefs into supporting savage violence. I am not forgetting about the killings done in the name of various sections of the Christian religion in previous centuries. All I am asking is, “What is it about Islam that seems to be malleable enough to lend some support to obviously deranged and hideous views?”

The Jihadis seem to have a great appreciation of death. That in itself isn’t necessarily a bad thing since we all die. Nonetheless, a true appreciation of death and life allows life to take its natural course without wanton violence and killing.

There are of course political and economic causes also behind the upsurge of extremist Islamic Jihadi behaviour. The Arab spring gone wrong, the misery of the poor in the Islamic world (and the rest of the world) and the greed of the wealthy powerbrokers in much of the west have further fuelled it.

It seems whatever we do, we are condemned to lose. It is likely that Islamic extremism will be defeated but at what cost? 1984 is coming to a country and neighbourhood near you!

“1984” is coming sooner than you thought

If anybody believes that they have the slightest privacy in this electronic age they are totally deluded. Some police forces have number plate detection cameras atop their cars that record every vehicle they pass such that everywhere that vehicle has been for years, and presumably that vehicle’s owner in most cases, can be extracted from a database.

Our smart phones enable enough data about our movements, history, life preferences and politics to be grabbed by governments and companies to fill volumes. Numbers of shopping centres round the world are dipping into data from such phones and sending it who knows where? Much of the data ends up in the USA where they maybe some constitutional protections for its own citizens but none for the rest of us.

If that isn’t enough our use of Facebook etc. gives governments even more information about ourselves to fill in any gaps in their knowledge. Doubtless, my views expressed in this blog have been collected somewhere by various government authorities. However, I am probably too insignificant for them to be bothered by them.

Edward Snowden’s revelations caused considerable protest against US spying by governments in Europe and elsewhere. Unsurprisingly, the Australian government along with both major political parties said nothing. It just hoped that the public would forget about it quickly.

Unfortunately, democracy is only as good as its Lowest Common Denominator. That translates as “democratic governments reflect the values and attitudes of the lowest level of their citizens where that lowest level boasts large numbers.”

It would seem certain that power brokers of our planet will destroy the environment and any semblence of a decent society at the same time as politically destroying the last vestiges of human freedom. In his vision of the future the only thing that George Orwell got wrong was the date!

Edward Snowden a hero in the fight against “1984”

As more information comes from Edward Snowden’s leaks of NSA documents it is apparent that he is the hero of the hour. It is blatantly obvious that there is little privacy in the modern world as it is but it seems that the USA and other powers will stop at nothing until they have a created a world with no freedom, no rights and no joy. They aim to create a world such as that portrayed in George Orwell’s novel, ‘1984.’ It would seem that Orwell was on the right track and only estimated the date wrongly. The coming world will much more resemble ‘1984’ than Aldous Huxley’s portrayed one in ‘Brave New World’ as in the latter one at least the populace were given drugs to keep them content. Our world wants to tax or remove any chemical help and leave control by terror.

Edward Snowden is leading the charge in the fight against this future, along with Julian Assange and Bradley Manning.

If you like my blog posts consider purchasing my own novel, “Brownout – 666” available  cheaply as an eBook from Kobo, Amazon, Barnes & Noble and all major retailers of eBooks.
