23 Aug2012 About the author of this blog, John Spencer

John Spencer started life as a small child in a lower middle class family in Adelaide, Australia. At the age of thirteen his family moved to Sydney (without his complete collection of Walt Disney comics that are now worth a fortune). After the usual teenage years he studied Philosophy at Macquarie University. He learned about people at the same time as making a few dollars driving taxis in Sydney. He spent a year and a half in the UK and Europe, chasing women as young men do, and learning more about life.

As a school teacher he spend many of his holidays sojourning in Asia. These short trips awoken the knowledge that the world is a complex place. In the eighties he pursued a career as a writer (many published travel articles) and domiciled in the Philippines. During that time he learned many of life’s harder facts and came to a greater understanding of the differences between the sexes.

In more recent years he has travelled more extensively through Asia, Europe and the USA. His novel, “Brownout” explores the darkest secrets of human culture and society in a most entertaining way.
